Humates are now recognized as the single most productive input in sustainable agriculture. They consist of humic and fulvic acid along with the raw humates (prehistoric plant matter) from which these powerful natural acids are derived.
Humate-Select: Humate-Select humates consisting of biologically active Humic acids and Fulvic acids are crucial to life on earth because they provide a biochemical bridge between mineral and living plant matter. Humic and fulvic acid are powerful chelaters thus help to increase nutrient absorption.
How does it work? Humate-Select does four basic things:• When added directly to soil it improves its quality and ability to grow crops, lawns, gardens and etc.
• When added to urea, fertilizer and lime it improves their performance
• When added to seeds it improves their germination rate and encourages root growth
• When added to the soil it adds nutrient values to the soil such as, HA, FA, Ca, S, and Fe, plus many other micronutrients
Note: You can usually cut back on chemical fertilizer by 25%, especially on nitrogen, and in many cases you can cut back 50% or more on phosphate. This is something you need to fine-tune on your own lawn or farm by doing test plots with different amounts of fertilizer and the recommended rate of the humate you are using. The reason you can cut down on your fertilizer is because in many cases there is more and deeper root growth and increased biological activity to release nutrients.
Humic Acid, the fundamental building block of humates are metal mineral salts of humic and fulvic acids. According to Texas A&M Associate Professor Dr. Robert E. Pettit , humic substances restore ecological balance in soils by providing sustenance for beneficial organisms like yeasts, algae, and bacteria. Humates have been shown to stimulate root growth, the uptake of soil nutrients, and improves soil structure to enhance moisture retention in areas prone to dry or drought conditions. In sum, it's good stuff.
Organic Mined Minerals Humate-Select contain humic and fulvic acids. Extensive research conducted by many research groups have shown that fulvic acid stimulates oxygen uptake and increases chlorophyll content. Humic acid occurs to some extent in the soil as an end product of decomposed organic matter. These acids play a very important role in the movement of macro- and micronutrients within the plant and their availability to the plant. The availability of these nutrients are essential for maximizing crop performance and beautiful, healthy, lawns and gardens.
Because of its strong chelating ability, Humate-Select is able to bond otherwise unavailable micronutrients from their salt forms and make them available to plant roots. The ability to separate and release essential nutrients and immediately chelate them makes this Humate-Select an exceptional substitute for the more expensive EDTA solutions, producing 99+% chelated cation bulk mixes at a fraction of the cost.
The addition of humic and fulvic acids to your fertility program will have a beneficial effect on microbial populations by providing the essential carbon source. Stimulated active microbial populations have a direct effect on production, disease suppression and nutrient recycling.
